A good rule of thumb is to design the banner using only 1/3 of the live area for text and the remaining 2/3 used for images or graphics. They say a picture speaks
a thousand words and it’s true! Images tend to capture the attention of passers-by and should always coincide with the message being delivered through the text. Keep the hierarchy of information in mind making the most important information the largest, and the least important information the smallest.You can control how one’s eye moves through the banner by grouping information and having plenty of negative space around each group of text.

Having multiple layouts will be visually interesting and keep your viewers engaged as the pass the series of designs. Making sure to include a high level of contrast between the background and the text is also very attention grabbing.

Be sure to team up with the right company. Working with an outfit that’s is capable of printing, sewing, installing/removal, and supplying brackets and hardware is key. Lastly, be sure to choose light poles in a high trafficked area and that the company you choose to install follows the policies laid out by the local municipalities.
